Local Knowledge EdVentures is a unique twist on guided adventures and trips for student groups, non-profit partner organizations, corporate outings, teacher trainings, friends and family groups, as well as independent travelers seeking an alternative to canned large group adventure travel. Let us develop a sea kayak, paddle board, hiking, biking, or specialized course or adventure trip that gets you to experience our Alaskan environments like you live here, because we do and we love it!. We focus on in depth natural and cultural history lessons while also learning to safely paddle, hike, bike, and otherwise explore both the remote wilderness, and the awesome but not so far off the grid parts of our own back yard.

Sample Course Themes and Trip Itineraries include:

The Coastal Temperate Rainforest by Sea Kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board

Whittier Water Front Historical Tours by Paddle Board and Kayak

Paddling Back in Time: The Glaciers of Prince William Sound

Custom Mother Ship Based Exploratory Sea Kayak and SUP Trips

Prince William Sound Base Camping with Biological Inventory and Service Learning Projects

Expedition Primer Courses for independent adventurers traveling by: Sea Kayak, SUP, Packraft, or Touring Skis.

Adaptive Paddle Sports and Inclusive Recreation Courses and Guided Trips.

Local Route Familiarization for Endurance Races and visiting adventure racers.

If you or your group are visiting Whittier, Girdwood, Seward, Homer, or the Kenai Peninsula we can develop custom small group outdoor adventures that incorporate your travel goals or curriculum requirements.
